What information we collect

When you fill in the sign-up form on this page, we collect:

  • Your first name

  • Your email address

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your first name and email address to send you emails and updates about HIPE UP, such as programme news, resources and information about what we do.

Our lawful basis for doing this is your consent. You gave that consent by ticking the box on the sign-up form. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so will not affect anything we did with your data before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We use Brevo, an email marketing platform, to store our contact list and send our emails. Brevo processes your data on our behalf and is based in the European Union. You can read how Brevo handles data in their own privacy policy at brevo.com.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you are subscribed to our emails. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from our active mailing list. We may keep a minimal record of your request so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

Cookies

This page does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send you.

Under UK data protection law you also have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong

  • Ask us to delete your data

  • Ask us to restrict or stop using your data

  • Object to how we use your data

  • Ask us to transfer your data to another provider

  • Withdraw your consent at any time

To do any of these, email us at [contact email address]. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection. You can find out how at ico.org.uk.

We would like the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you go to the ICO.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
